The first video camera I owned recorded life as I knew it straight to VHS tape. My hand-me-down equipment was dated and crazy heavy, but all that mattered was creating weirdness worthy of preservation. Twenty years have passed since then, and my heart still craves to create art and meaning. I'm Shannon, hi! Beyond that, here's a little bit about me...
-
I have always loved the art of film making. Even though it hasn't always been my full-time job. I feel most like myself when I'm creating.
-
I've visited 49 states (take me to Hawaii please?!)
-
Likes: fountain Diet Coke, pizza, listening to music, nighttime, writing songs, sassy coffee mugs, finding a good deal, big earrings, raccoons, dogs, sea turtles, visiting new places, laughing, and cookies.
-
Dislikes: the fact that food has calories, horror movies, poor-shaming, small talk, when my eyelashes stick together, and being put on the spot.
-
Enneagram type 9 + INFP
-
I work best with people who are: laid-back and enjoy going with the flow, kind, curious, open-minded, and willing to laugh at themselves or a situation.

Sometimes people are confused about what I do and what I don't do. So to keep it simple...I film and edit events. I often record in the background of a "scene," working to capture moments as they naturally happen. I cannot count how many times I've heard, "this video made me cry!" in the past few years. Maybe it's because we have a difficult time recognizing the memories being made in a moment until it has passed.
...and that is why I love what I do.

In order to have time to do what I love, there are certain things I cannot do. I do not transfer tapes (VHS, Hi-8, Mini-DV) to DVD, thumb drive, or digital files. Amazon has plenty of DIY options, or a local tech shop can help with this. I do not crowd-hype for footage at events. I do not photograph weddings. Videography is my focus.
